On March 14, Lisa Xue, Director of Global Education Institute of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) visited Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE). Prof. Weifen Qiu, NUFE Vice-president met her at Xianlin Campus.

Prof. Weifen Qiu first extended warm welcome to Ms. Lisa Xue for visiting NUFE. As internationalization is a major development strategy of NUFE, Prof. Qiu said, we are eager to establish new partnerships with famous universities all around the world. She suggested the two universities can first cooperate in post-graduate student exchange programs and staff international training programs, and we always welcome students from Cal Poly Pomona to pursue overseas studies at NUFE.

Ms. Lisa Xue briefly introduced Cal Poly Pomona, and agreed on Prof. Qiu’s suggestion on cooperation. She stressed that Cal Poly Pomona is seeking to collaborate with NUFE in multiple levels and areas.

Mr. Neng Huang, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Ms. Juan Wang, the Deputy Director, had a meeting with Ms. Lisa Xue for the details of cooperation. Mr. Neng Hang introduced NUFE’s cooperation with US universities, and Ms. Juan Wang listed NUFE’s cooperation needs in such areas as joint post-graduate programs, international training of staff, and internationalization of teaching, etc. Ms. Lisa Xue pointed out that Cal Poly Pomona and NUFE both have excellent business schools, which is a great advantage for establishing ties between the two. She introduced 3+1+1 MBA program, post-graduate students short-term exchange programs, and training programs in innovation and leadership, etc. The two sides reached consensus on further cooperation, and discussed details in this regard.
