Nanjing University of Finance & Economics--University of Southampton 2013 Student Program Opening Ceromony & Certificate Award Ceromony is held in the meeting hall of Z-2 Building, Xianlin Campus on September 9. Vice-president Xu Chengmin and Mr.Mark Cranshaw, Director of the Centre for Contemporary China of the University of Southampton are present in the ceromony and give speeches to the students. The ceromony is hosted by Mr.Huang Neng, vice-director of International Office of NUFE; Dr.Hui-Chi Yeh and Ms.Kira Terry from the University of Southampton also attend the ceromony.

Vice-president Xu Chengmin reiterates that one of the essential tasks of university is talent cultivation, including professional training and intercultural communication competence fostering, which functions at the time of globalization as the tenet of the international programs cooperated between NUFE and University of Southampton. He expects students who will study further in Southampton to seize the opportunity of learning and self-enhancing.

Mr.Mark Cranshaw indicates that the performance of NUFE students in Southampton improves year by year. This year 7 out of the 9 students in 2+2 program obtained the first-grade honor (only 20% students will be awarded this honor in Southampton). He hopes that new students will follow their path to fit in the new environment and cherish the days in Southampton as an estate for their life.

It is reported that 3+1+1 program in 2012 and 2+2 in 2011 have 39 graduates, among whom 37 are enrolled as postgraduates in famous universities of UK, including the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, the University of Warwick and the University of Southampton. In 2013, 40 students in 3+1+1 program and 14 in 2+2 will arrive in Southampton on September 21 and start their new study life abroad.
