NUFE and SUNY Hold the Advisory Board Telephone Meeting for the Confucius Institute for Business

The Advisory Board Telephone Meeting for the Confucius Institute for Business

On the morning of September 6 New York time, the Advisory Board Telephone Meeting for the Confucius Institute for Business (CIB) was held between Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) and the State University of New York (SUNY). It was attended by Professor QIU Weifen, VIce President of NUFE, Prof. Sally Crimmins Villela, Vice President of SUNY, and Prof. Maria P. Conzatti, Vice President of Nassau Community College (NCC). The views on the achievements of CIB and future plans for its development were exchanged by the attendees.

Prof. Steve A. Levine, the newly-appointed director of CIB on the American side, and Doctor Maryalice Mazzara, Senior Advisor of CIB, reported the progress of recent activities, such as business seminars, SUNY China 150 Program, and the reception of the government delegation of Jiangsu Province. These achievements received unanimous recognition from the leaders of both sides. The leaders also analyzed the existing problems, discussed the future plans for CIB, and agreed to make full use of mutual resources and advantages and further develop international programs for students and teachers

Prof. Qiu expressed her anticipation to deepen the cooperation with SUNY and promote reciprocal programs, such as academic cooperation, student exchanges and teacher mutual visiting.

Prof. HUANG Neng, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Prof. YAO Jie, Director of CIB on the Chinese side, and relevant staff of CIB and Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges were present at the board meeting.
