Dormitory Profile
International students enrolled at NUFE are accommodated in the International Students Dormitory. Any student wishing to live off-campus must submit a written application to the college and receive approval before relocating.
Most international students enrolled in degree programs are housed in the Xianlin Campus (仙林校区), while those in the Chinese Preparatory Program reside at the Fujianlu Campus (福建路校区), located in downtown Nanjing. The international dormitories at Xianlin Campus consist of small apartments that feature shared furnished rooms equipped with a bed, desk, closet, and chairs. Each apartment includes internet access, air conditioning, shower facilities, and a living room with TV entertainment options. The dormitories at Fujianlu Campus maintain a similar standard to those at Xianlin, although the room layouts may vary.
International students must finish Accommodation Registration within 24 hours after check-in. The address of the dorm in Xianlin is Room No. X, Dongyuan Residence, 3 Wenyuan Road, Xianlin College Town, Qixia District, Nanjing (栖霞区仙林大学城文苑路3号东苑宿管站X房). The address of the dorm in Fujianlu is Room No. X, No.3 Student Dormitory, 128 Tielubeijie, Gulou District, Nanjing (鼓楼区铁路北街128号学生公寓3号站X房). When students graduate from the Chinese Preparatory Program and are promoted to degree programs, they will move to the dorms at Xianlin Campus.
Dormitory Guide
International students must reside in their assigned rooms and cannot change rooms without prior approval from the College of International Education.
When registering, international students living in the dormitory must pay for their accommodation for the entire academic year. Staying on campus during the summer and winter holidays is not recommended due to maintenance and inconvenience. Those who need to remain during the holidays should pay attention to notices from the college and submit applications before the holiday period.
Students must return to their dorms by 10:00 PM and comply with the curfew. Making noise or engaging in disturbing behavior is prohibited. Overnight stays off-campus without permission are not allowed. If students must stay out all night, they should contact the college for approval.
Personal safety is essential. Ensure all windows and doors are closed before leaving your dorm. Do not give your room keys to others; making spare keys or lending your keys is not allowed. Keep valuables and cash in the bank. If you notice any suspicious individuals in the dorm, report them to the dormitory managers or call the police immediately at 025-110.
Protect public property and avoid damaging, moving, or disassembling dorm furniture and facilities. If any natural damage occurs, please contact the Dormitory Management Station promptly.
Students must retain dormitory keys, and duplicating or distributing keys is prohibited.
Check-out at the Dormitory Management Station is required when suspending studies, dropping out, returning home, or graduating. Students are responsible for any damage to property, fixtures, or furniture. All dormitory members will share the compensation if the damage goes unaccounted for. Failure to complete check-out on time allows the university to dispose of any belongings left in the dorm.
High-powered electrical appliances, such as induction cookers, electric heaters, electric kettles, irons, electric cookers, electric blankets, and hair dryers, are forbidden in the dormitory. If any are found, dormitory managers may confiscate them and take appropriate action against the owner. Students wishing to purchase other electrical appliances must submit a written application to the College of International Education for approval.
Students should report any malfunctioning electrical appliances or circuits to the dormitory managers, and an electrician will be sent for repairs. Dismantling or altering electrical wiring on your own is prohibited.
Make sure to turn off all electricity before leaving your dorm.
Familiarize yourself with fire exits and evacuation procedures. Call the fire service at 119 immediately and evacuate the building in case of a fire or smoke. Ensure that fire exits are always clear and unobstructed. Fire-fighting equipment should never be tampered with or misused.
Open flames, including smoking, candles, kerosene stoves, and alcohol stoves, are strictly prohibited in the dormitories.
International students who cause accidents or injuries to themselves or others in the dorm by violating university rules or Chinese laws will be personally liable for any legal actions, injury claims, or damages.
Visitors who do not reside in the dormitory are not allowed to enter. They must present personal identification and complete a visitor information form to receive approval from the dormitory managers before entering.
