In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, NUFE issues the Enrollment Management Regulations for International Students of NUFE, which indicates the management standard and procedures for student enrollment status on campus.
REGISTRATION
Newly admitted students should arrive at NUFE within prescribed registration period and present admission notices and the original files of application documents to finish enrollment registration conducted by the College of International Education. If you can't arrive within prescribed period, you have to submit an application in written form, no later than one week before the semester starts. Any new students who fail to register in time will be regarded as dropping off. New students in degree programs have to right to apply for admission retention up to 1 year. Students can apply for registration within the retention period.
Enrolled students have to finish registration each semester based on NUFE's academic calendar. As an enrolled student, if you can't arrive within prescribed period, you have to submit application to the College of International Education in advance; otherwise you will be regarded as absent from classes. Any enrolled students who fail to register within the first two weeks of the semester will be regarded as dropping off.
EXAM DELAY & ABSENCE
Due to diseases or other proper accidents, the international student can apply for delaying exam to the College of International Education before the exam starts. Once approved, the student can take the exam later, usually at the beginning of next semester. If the student doesn't take the exam without approval, the result of the exam will be recorded as zero and failed. Meanwhile, the student has to re-take the exam later.
EXAM CHEATING
Exam cheating leads to result of the exam recorded as zero and failed. The student who cheats in exam is to be punished according to NUFE's International Students' Discipline Sanctions.
EXAM RESULT RE-CHECK
If an international student has question about his/her exam result, the student has the right to submit application in written form to re-check the exam result. Once approved, course teacher will re-check the exam paper and give feedback to the student.
MAJOR CHANGING
International students in Bachelor's Degree programs have the right to apply to change current major. The applicant has only one chance to change current major when s/he finishes the first year study in Bachelor's Degree program. The applicant also has to achieve an average score not lower than 70 in the first year study, without any fail in courses.
UNIVERSITY TRANSFER
If an international student can't continue study at NUFE due to diseases or other special needs, s/he can apply for university transfer to another university with an application in written form and admission certificate from new university. If approved, the student has to cancel current residence permit and move to new university.
STUDY SUSPENSION
Due to healthy issue or other special needs, international students can apply for study suspension (1 year for undergraduates and 1 semester for postgraduates). The applicant have to submit application in written form with relevant certificates to the College of International Education. Once approved, the applicant has to leave the campus. The College of International Education also has the right to suspend the study of any international student if necessary. Before the suspension period ends, applicant has to submit application to resume study at NUFE. The applicant are not allowed to enter China and NUFE until s/he receives official notice from the College of International Education.
MILITARY SERVICE
In accordance with relevant official instructions, international students from the countries having mandatory military service have the right to suspend study at NUFE and performe military service, with enrollment status reserved. The applicant has to submit application in written form with relevant certificates to the College of International Education. The service time will not be counted into study duration at NUFE, but NUFE will have Chinese and academic test for the students who finish military service and apply to resume study. If failed, those students have to take addtional courses.
DROPPING OUT
Due to healthy issue or other special needs, international students can apply for dropping out from NUFE. The applicant has to submit drop-out application to the College of International Education. Once approved, the applicant has to cancel current residence permit and leave the campus. NUFE has the right to expel the students who are not qualified for the study at NUFE due to various reasons. In accordance with the regulations of the immigration authority of Nanjing, NUFE will expel the student whose attendance rate is below 80%.
