STUDY SYSTEM
International students should obey university's academic arrangements and attend classes on time. If an international student has to be absent for proper reasons, s/he must apply for leave to the College of International Education and get approval before the class starts. Students who missed more than 20% of the total courses in one semester are to drop out. International student who applies for sick leave or could not attend classes for medical, emotional, or any other reasons for over two months are suggested to drop out.
Every academic year of NUFE is divided into spring semester and autumn semester. Usually a semester lasts about 20 weeks, and the last two weeks are reserved for examinations. September is the beginning of an academic year which also starts an autumn semester and spring semester begins in March. Summer holiday begins in July (around 10 weeks). Winter holiday will be arranged according to the Chinese Spring Festival. It usually begins within 12 days before the Spring Festival and ends within 16 days after it (around 5 weeks). International students have public holidays during major Chinese festivals based on the university calendar.
