On the morning of December 11, a delegation of Cornell University led by Professor Panle Jia Barwick, Director of Cornell Institute for China Economic Research paid a visit to NUFE for the cooperation between the two universities. NUFE Vice President QIU Weifen met with the guests at Xianlin Campus.

Prof. Qiu extended her welcome to the visit of the delegation. After briefing them on the development of NUFE, Prof. Qiu mentioned that NUFE had offered financial aid to six students to support their study at Cornell Summer Program this year. The students have learnt a lot at Cornell University, which is positive to their study as well as their self-development. Prof. Qiu also pointed out that NUFE had paid great attention to the internationalization of the university, and hoped to better develop the university through this process. She hoped to strengthen the cooperation with high-leveled universities in the world, including Cornell University, especially in the fields of teacher exchanges, research cooperation, etc.

Prof. Barwick expressed her appreciation to the reception of Prof. Qiu. She praised NUFE students for their good performance at Cornell University. Prof. Barwick also expressed her willingness to enhance the cooperation on teacher exchanges and scientific research. She extended her welcome to NUFE students and teachers to visit Cornell University for further communications.

Prof. Barwick and one of her colleagues also gave well received academic lectures to young teachers and students respectively.
