A delegation of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) visited University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), Nassau Community College (NCC) of the State University of New York (SUNY), and University of Waterloo from September 22 to 28. During their visit, the delegation had extensive and in-depth discussions with these universities on the international exchange and cooperation of higher education.

UC Berkeley, the NO.1 public university in the United States, is the first stop for the delegation. The cooperation between the two universities could date back to 2009. In the past decade, the two parties have worked in close collaboration on summer programs. A total of 224 NUFE students attended summer courses in UC Berkeley. As a world-class university with high-quality resources, UC Berkeley offers a platform for NUFE students to broaden their horizons. The delegation expressed their hope to expand and deepen the cooperation with UC Berkeley. Professor Cindy Bumgarner, Vice President of UC Berkeley, received the delegation. Prof. Bumgarner praised the early cooperation with NUFE, and shared the practice and innovation of undergraduate education in UC Berkeley. She also expressed the willingness to maintain and further deepen the cooperation with NUFE.

The delegation also visited NCC, where the Confucius Institute for Business (CIB) co-sponsored by SUNY and NUFE located. Delegation members met with Prof. Maria Conzatti, Vice President of NCC, and Prof. Steven Levine, Director of CIB on the American side. The delegation listened to the report of CIB and expressed their thanks to the efforts made by SUNY and NCC. NUFE hoped to continue the cooperation with SUNY, and also enhance the communication with NCC. Prof. Conzatti introduced the achievements made in CIB and expressed her expectations to strengthen the cooperation with NUFE.

During the visit in University of Waterloo, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Ian Roalands, Vice President of University of Waterloo. The two universities have established partnership for several years, and the Environment and Business undergraduate program co-sponsored by the two universities has also achieved great success. The two parties discussed the current situation and latest development of this program, and exchanged views on exploring new areas of cooperation. The delegation also met with NUFE students studying at University of Waterloo. NUFE would help them overcome their difficulties with University of Waterloo.

The delegation received great achievements during the visit. This visit helps maintain good partnerships with those top universities in the world, strengthen the current international cooperation projects, explore and develop potential cooperation and exchange opportunities, and provide new opportunities for our international development.
